Question:
When a user is sent a link to upload a file to Arcus to his/her email, how long is the link valid? If there is no limit on this, can there be?
Example: User A uploads a file. User A then leaves his/her current role and should no longer be able to upload a file. Since this was a link and the user need not be registered in Arcus could he/she keep uploading files indefinitely?
Answer:
Links are one time use and expire in 72 hours, whatever comes first.
Question:
Can the link be blocked from sharing the link with others? We would like to control whether the user can share the link provided with another user.
Answer:
Links do not require authentication so they are not tied to a user. That is by design.
Question:
What is the maximum file size that can be uploaded? Currently it shows 4GB but there was “talk” that this could be up to 32GB. Can this be adjusted?
Answer:
Still set at 4GB. This is a limit to balance large files vs. user experience of tying up the browser and sessions. We have a plan for a new upload architecture for a more robust upload/download.
Question:
What is the storage limitation in the Azure Blob storage? And does file storage in the Azure Blob storage count against the overall Arcus storage?
Example: Platinum has 20TB of Arcus storage. User uploads 3TB of files to Azure Blob storage. Does the user now only have 17TB of available storage?
Answer:
To clarify, in the example the Team has 20TB of storage, a user uploads 3TB and now the Team has 17TB of storage. Storage is enabled at the Team level, where you can sub-allocate to Projects as you want and shared by all users. This is for Storage Service purchases, not the storage for VMs that is part of the Capacity Package purchases.
Question:
Is the storage persistent? Are there any backups that occur that would later be restored?
Answer:
The versioning feature is enabled on the buckets to track changes and allow for restore. It is not exposed up to the user (you) so you would have to submit a support ticket for restoration (for now).
Question:
How do I reactivate my account?
Answer:
You should be able to self-reactivate: https://arcus.mil/kb/reactivation/
Question:
I need access to a certain project.
Answer:
You can contact the project manager for the project you need access to.
Question:
How can I fix my SSL Certificate Error when accessing websites?
Answer:
Install the WCF root CA 1 on the Windows machine
Steps:
- Log into your VM as an administrator
- Download the WCF bundle from: https://public.cyber.mil/pki-pke/
- Extract out Certificates_PKCS7_v5.13_WCF_DoD_WCF_Root_CA_1.der.p7b
- Double click Certificates_PKCS7_v5.13_WCF_DoD_WCF_Root_CA_1.der.p7b
- Import this certificate for All Users in to the Trusted CA folder
Note: You may need to export the WCF root CA1 as a “.cer” file, then import it into the Trusted Root CA Certificates store.
If you are running a domain controller, add the WCF root CA1 to a GPO and distribute it to the domain.
Optional powershell command:
Import-Certificate -FilePath "\common\dod-root-certs\Certificates_PKCS7_v5.13_WCF_DoD_WCF_Root_CA_1.der.p7b" -CertStoreLocation Cert:\LocalMachine\Root
