Remote Access Suppress Warning

Suppress Remote Access Warning The Remote Access Users Connected warning is to prevent other users from being unintentionally booted off of the connection. To disable the display of this warning, you will need to access the data controls for your Remote Access connection and enable the Suppress Warnings feature.
Remote Access with Multiple Monitors

Arcus offers the ability to make remote access connections to deployed systems through your browser. You can connect using: Secure Shell (SSH) over port 22 Remote Console (VNC) over port 5902 Remote Desktop (RDP) over port 3389 Remote Access connections are secure and encrypted using industry standard SSL protocol and authenticated through your Arcus login session, including your project, roles and permissions. Remote Access sessions in Arcus are possible in Linux via VNC and Windows via RDP sessions respectively.
CAC Pass-Through

CAC Pass-Through is the process of using a Common Access Card (CAC) connected to the client device for authentication when logging on to a CAC-required site via a Windows VM. Users can also use the smart card within the session. To utilize the CAC Pass-Through functionality this feature needs to be enabled at the team level. Windows Password has Expired

If you are unable to log into your Windows system via Remote Access, it’s possible the password on the account created for you when the system was deployed has expired. This is very easy to reset on your own. Create a Custom RDP connection to your system; use Administrator on a standard Windows system and use usaf_admin on a USAF Standard Desktop. The Administrator password will have been automatically set to the password you specified when you created your system.
Copy/Paste Text

To copy/paste sections of text into a SSH or RDP remote access session: Important Note: The CTRL and ALT keys are held down together then press and release SHIFT (while keeping CTRL and ALT down). Copy Paste Text IN to the Remote Access Window Hold the CTRL+ALT and type the Shift, a sidebar window appears Type or Paste Text into the sidebar window Hold the CTRL+ALT and type the Shift to close the sidebar window For SSH, right-click to paste your text into the SSH session For RDP, paste as usual in Windows, CTRL+V or Right-Click and select Paste Copy Paste Text OUT of the Remote Access Window In SSH, use your mouse to highlight text to copy In RDP, select text and type CTRL+C, or Right-Click and select Copy Hold the CTRL+ALT and type the Shift, a sidebar window appears with the selected text Simply Copy/Paste the text out of the sidebar Window More Help Review this topic with our video tutorials:
Troubleshooting Remote Access

The remote access capabilities in Arcus have been utilized by users around the globe with great success, delivering simple, browser-based remote desktop like performance without the need for plugins or tunnels. With that said, connections pass through a complext ecosystem. Using Mobile or Touchscreen Devices

You can show the menu by swiping right from the left edge of the screen. You will then have the option to request “Text input” or the on-screen keyboard as your emulation tool. Custom Username and Password

While launching a Deployment you are required to supply a custom username and password. Once your Run is submitted, Arcus will provision each host in the run and create an Operating System (OS) user with the username and password that you supplied. Password Complexity Requirements The password must not contain < or > characters The custom password has to meet the complexity requirements enabled on the Operating System. There is some on-screen guidance for password complexity.

On-Screen Keyboard

Certain key combinations are impossible to press because they are reserved by the operating system (Ctrl+Alt+Del or Alt+Tab, for example) or by the web browser. If you press one of these reserved combinations, the effect will be observed locally, not remotely, and the remote desktop will receive only some of the keys. You will have access to a built-in on-screen keyboard, which allows for keys to be sent to the remote desktop without affecting the local system.
File Transfer

File Transfer in Arcus Uploading Large Files Large files in Arcus are considered to be any file larger than 100mb in size. There are several methods to upload files larger than 100mb into Arcus, and all methods leverage Arcus Assets. Assets give the users better control over configuration management and versioning and provides hooks for automating the loading and parsing of data. Method 1 - Upload your files into Arcus using an Asset Create an Asset Script that parks the desired files into a directory and add this “File Upload” Asset to the system.
