An API token is needed to access the Arcus ReST API on a per project basis. To create an API token:
Generate a Project API Token
- Click on the person icon in the top right corner and select the “Profile & Account” option from the dropdown menu.
- Select Security and scroll down to API Tokens
- Click the Generate Token button next to the desired project.
- The token will appear and you will also receive a confirmation email. At this point you will have the option to re-issue a token as well.
Once you have the token, you can access the Arcus ReST API.
Note: The API token belongs to the specific project, and will allow access to resources within that project.
Manage API Tokens
- Click on the person icon in the top right corner and select the “Profile & Account” option from the dropdown menu.
- Select Security and scroll down to API Tokens
- Use the Re-issue token or Generate token buttons to manage your API tokens for each project
Using the CONS3RT ReST API
Visit the ReST API documentation for details at your Arcus site:
If you are using a CONS3RT environment which allows username/password authentication (e.g. cons3rt.com), you must provide the username and the API token in the header, the password is not required. For certificate authentication, see below.
Using your CAC or ECA Certificates for the ReST API
If you are in an environment that requires certificate authentication (e.g. Arcus), you need to provide the CAC or ECA certificate along with the API token. See these instructions to learn how to make ReST API calls with your ECA certificate.
For developing unattended automation scripts using the ReST API, CAC is not supported. For this you will be either an ECA certificate, or you may request a machine certificate by contacting support@arcus-cloud.io.
