Connecting your Arcus Project with an external provider using the Arcus Submission Service allows project members to push Assets and Container Images from Arcus to an external repository
Setting up the Arcus Submission Service integration on a project requires a Arcus user account and is limited to owners of a Arcus project.
Configuring the Submission Service
Only a Project Owner can configure Submission Services for their project. If you’re not certain what your role is within a project, or don’t seem to have sufficient permissions, contact your Team Manager. If you’re not sure who your Team Manager is, contact support.
There are two ways to navigate to the Submission Service:
- Navigate to your project landing page using the site logo on the top left of the page
- If you have access to multiple projects, you may need to click the Switch Project button, and select the project you need to modify
- Under Project Info click Go to project settings
- Click Integrations in the menu on the left
- Click the Green + Submission Service button
Or:
- On the Arcus main navigation bar on the left, scroll down to Manage and click Projects
- Select the Project that needs to have the service set up
- Click Manage in the upper right of the screen
- Click Integrations in the menu on the left
- Click the Green + Submission Service button
Clicking on the Green + Submission Service button will bring up the New Submission Service form:
- Enter a name for the Submission Service, and choose between Secure FTP or Docker Registry for the Service Type
- Fill out the New Submission Service form with Host, Port, Username, and Password
- If using SFTP, the Service can be used with a Remote Path set, or left blank
- If the SFTP field is left blank in the form, the Remote path will need to be set when using the Service to upload an asset.
- Click the green Save button

Using the Submission Service
Any user within a project that has the Asset Uploader permissions can upload assets to external services for their project. If you’re not certain what your role is within a project, or don’t seem to have sufficient permissions, contact your Project Owner or Team Manager. If you’re not sure who they are, contact support.
For Project Owners: The Asset Uploader permissions can be found as “Can upload assets to external services” in the user role list.
Note, that currently the only Arcus assets that can be uploaded using the Submission Service tool are Conainer Images.
To utilize the Submission Service:
- Click on the Container Images button on the left, in the main navigation bar under Library
- Select the Container Image that you would like to upload to an external service (remember, if you don’t see the container you’re looking for, you may need to select More Filters and toggle the community assets)
- Click the Overview of the Container Image
- Under Files find the Push button (This should be to the right of the Update and Download buttons)
- Click the Push button and select the connected Submission Service to use (if more than one has been set up)
- If using Docker Registry, you will need to input your username and password credentials for the registry, and also the image name and image tag
- If using SFTP, you will need to input the remote path (if applicable), and your username/password credentials on the SFTP server
- Click the Submit button to complete the request
The Submission Service works in the background, and handles up to two simultaneous requests.
