Duplicate Cookie Error
Some Arcus users have encountered a unique error declaring “HTTP ERROR 400 Duplicate valid session cookies.” Typically, the error appears similar to the image shown below.
This error is caused by logging into a new Arcus tab while an existing RA window that has auto-logged out (timed out) is still open in the same browser.
To resolve this error:
- Please clear your browser cache (clear cookies) back at least two weeks and close the browser.
- Or delete the existing cookies associated with
app.arcus-cloud.io
andconnect.arcus-cloud.io

What Causes the Error?
Remote Access sessions in Arcus have an inactivity timer, and after a period of time will automatically log the user out.
Users can have a Arcus tab open that has automatically logged out, and then open a fresh Arcus tab. When opening the fresh Arcus tab, the user will be prompted to log into Arcus again. This state with one or more auto-logged out tabs and new logged-in tabs in the same browser can result in the duplicate cookie error.
Detailed Resolution
In most cases, this error can be resolved by simply clearing the respective browser cache and closing the relevant browser window. This process varies browser-by-browser, but make sure that the “clear cookies” portion is checked, and the cache is cleared back at least two weeks, to ensure no older cookies remain in the cache.
If users don’t want to clear the whole browser cache, there is a more advanced method where users can select only the app.

In Chrome, this can be accomplished by clicking the “lock” icon to the left of the URL bar.
Look at the “Cookies” section. Make sure that there is only one “JSESSIONID,” and that it is associated with the base https://arcus-cloud.io/
. If you see multiple JSESSIONID cookies, especially ones associated with app.arcus-cloud.io
and connect.arcus-cloud.io
, then removing these cookies will resolve the duplicate cookie issue.
